Everybody's clocking out, it's nearly half past five
But I'd better stick around tonight and do some overtime
The bills keep mounting up and up like a wall of debt

I often get in early to earn an extra bob

I come in at the weekends and I make a few more quid
But I rarely get to see my wife and kids

We sometimes talk of holidays or buying us a car
But those are all just pipe dreams

The kids go off to school in their cousin's hand me downs
And I don't know it I'll ever sort this out

Wir reden manchmal über Urlaub oder uns ein Auto zu kaufen

Denn das Geld reicht dafür nicht aus
Die Kinder gehen in den abgelegten Sachen ihres Cousins zur Schule
Und ich weiß nicht, ob ich das jemals in den Griff bekomme
