Then I opened up the book and began to read from Matthew, Mark, Luke and John...

He walked on the water, healed The lame, and made the blind to see again.
And for the first time here on earth we learned that God could be a friend.
And though He never, ever did a single thing wrong, the angry crowd chose Him.

"That's not a new book, that's a Bible," he said, "And I've heard it all before.
I've tried religion, it's shame and guilt, and I don't need it anymore.
It's superstation, made-up tales, just to help the weak to survive."
"Let me read it again," I said, "But listen closely. This is gonna change your life."

Je prenais l'avion l'autre jour, souhaitant seulement pouvoir sortir.
Lorsque l'homme à côté de moi a vu le livre dans ma main et m'a demandé de quoi il s'agissait.
Alors je me suis installé dans mon siège. "Un best-seller", dis-je, "une histoire et un mystère en un seul.
Puis j'ai ouvert le livre et j'ai commencé à lire Matthieu, Marc, Luc et Jean...
Il est né d'une vierge une nuit sainte dans la petite ville de Bethléem.
Les anges se sont rassemblés autour de lui sous l'étoile en chantant des louanges au grand JE SUIS.
Il a marché sur l'eau, a guéri les boiteux et a redonné la vue aux aveugles.
Et pour la première fois ici sur terre, nous avons appris que Dieu pouvait être un ami.
Et bien qu'il n'ait jamais, jamais fait une seule mauvaise chose, la foule en colère l'a choisi.
Puis il a marché sur la route et est mort sur la croix et
C'était la fin... du commencement.
"Ce n'est pas un nouveau livre, c'est une Bible", a-t-il dit, "et j'ai déjà tout entendu.
J'ai essayé la religion, c'est la honte et la culpabilité, et je n'en ai plus besoin.
C'est de la superstation, des contes inventés, juste pour aider les faibles à survivre."
"Laissez-moi le relire", dis-je, "mais écoutez attentivement. Cela va changer votre vie."

Encore une fois, mais cette fois, il y a plus.
Et je crois que c'est vrai : sa mort n'était pas la fin mais le début de la vie qui s'accomplit en toi.
Tu vois, il a fait tout ça pour toi..."
