Story of that ole snake in the grass, called The Viper,

I was in my apartment all alone when I heard a ring tingling on the telly-phone,
I said "Who′s that at half past three?" And a frightening voice came back at me!
"Sssssss! Ssssssss! I am The Viper! I'll sssee you in seven weekss"
My head was spinning and my knees were weak,
I could hardly stand on my own two feet!
Its next call got me out of bed,
Then how I flipped when that voice said,
"Sssssss! Ssssssss! I am The Viper! I′ll see you in seven days"
I shook like Jell-O in a hurricane!

My heart was pounding like a Pullman train.
Again that voice upset me so,
Again I flipped as it said, "Oh, oh!"
"Sssssss! I am The Viper, I'll ssssee you in sssseven ssssecondsss!"
Now I'm certain that my time has come!
I can hear its knock; it′s too late to run!
I know that I must let it in!
So wish me luck, ′cause things look grim!
"Ssssssssssss! I am The Viper!"
"Oh, why have you come?"
"I have come to vipe your vindows!"

Le Vipère

L'histoire de ce vieux serpent dans l'herbe, appelé Le Vipère,

J'étais dans mon appartement tout seul quand j'ai entendu une sonnerie tintinnabulante sur le téléphone,
J'ai dit "Qui est-ce à trois heures et demie ?" Et une voix effrayante m'est revenue !
"Sssssss ! Ssssssss ! Je suis Le Vipère ! Je te vois dans sept semaines"
Ma tête tournait et mes genoux étaient faibles,
J'avais du mal à tenir debout sur mes deux pieds !
Son prochain appel m'a fait sortir du lit,
Puis comme j'ai sursauté quand cette voix a dit,
"Sssssss ! Ssssssss ! Je suis Le Vipère ! Je te vois dans sept jours"
J'ai tremblé comme de la gelée dans un ouragan !

Mon cœur battait comme un train Pullman.
Encore une fois cette voix m'a bouleversé,
Encore une fois j'ai sursauté quand elle a dit : "Oh, oh !"
"Sssssss ! Je suis Le Vipère, je te vois dans sept secondes !"
Maintenant je suis sûr que mon heure est venue !
J'entends son coup ; il est trop tard pour courir !
Je sais que je dois le laisser entrer !
Alors souhaite-moi bonne chance, car les choses semblent sombres !
"Ssssssssssss ! Je suis Le Vipère !"
"Oh, pourquoi es-tu venu ?"
"Je suis venu pour viper tes fenêtres !"
