O, 'tis Christmas Day
And see the Red-Coured herring
What are the birds that are so fine
In serenity lying?
This is a holy mission
Pay to God with love
This Christmas Day
In Bethlehem, afar that wood
There was a blessed Messiah

The night before, the happy tide
The noble virgin and her guide
Were long time seeking up and down
To find a lodging in the town
But up her own king's cup to pass
Crowneth the holy hermet rest
There's one for two, and three for two
As falters on the success

In Bethlehem, did shepherd see
A box of merriment and pity
To poor God's angels did appease
Which were too shabby, if they please me
With pail and cane the angels stayed
To take the poor babe in lots of hate
But they found the lightest happy call
For prince he bade his sweetest woe

Кто был убог, коль угодно мне.
С ведром и посохом ангелы ждали,
Принять младенца бедного
В яслях. Но нашли светлейший зов счастливый,
Ибо князь велел сладчайшую печаль.
