I return to the battle zone

Three months of peace in the rear
Though my wounds have not yet fully healed
I walk again in the turning cold
I have been a soldier for many years
Falling in love in the jungle like a dream of lovers
Our lives are like the long river
Don't go tirelessly, no one knows who for

Letters from the front line, I am lost in thought as I realize spring has come
Here there are no apricot blossoms, no peach blossoms to adorn the world

No green or red dress, fragrant with perfume
We met on an afternoon when the dry leaves were falling
Oh, the precious moments we shared
Leaves, why do you float on the stream in the sky
Inspiring a soldier to write poetry
Words as soft as breath
As she promises to wait for the one who is far away

I am used to it now, the constant traveling
And the absence of city lights
So even though spring has come to my unit
With no delicious cakes or fine wine
I feel no coldness within me
I only pity my girl back home
Missing her lover in the rosy glow of spring
My love, as this long war continues
We grow further apart with each passing day, and now even spring has passed us by
