Denn zur Belohnung wird als Droge
Noch ein fetter Bonus ausgezahlt.
Das ist DIE RIESENGROSSE GIER,
Die Treibjagd nach dem Geld,
Die wie ein wildes Tier
Die ganze Welt in Atem hält.
Das ist DIE RIESENGROSSE GIER,
Die jedes Leben frißt,
Weil man im Rausch der Zahl
- Den wahren Wert vergißt.
Der Rubel rollt, der Euro schwankt
Und bis zum Abgrund ist es nur ein Schritt.
Bei allen Pleiten, Pech und Pannen
Will der Profi den Profit.
Wenn trotz Gewinnen er verliert,
Dann nur den eigenen Verstand.
Und steht das Wasser bis zum Hals,
Dann hilft - na, klar - die Öffentliche Hand.
Milliarden rasen um den Globus
Und der Puls rast bis zum Herzinfarkt.
Sogar Finanzminister scheitern,
Denn allmächtig ist nur noch der Markt.
Wie oft schon waren wir kurz
Vor dem großen Crash zutiefst geschockt.
Da hat sich irgend so ein Lehman Brother
Leider wieder voll verzockt.
Das ist DIE RIESENGROSSE GIER,
Die Treibjagd nach dem Geld,
Die wie ein wildes Tier
Die ganze Welt in Atem hält.
Das ist DIE RIESENGROSSE GIER,
Die jedes Leben frißt,
Weil man im Rausch der Zahl -
Den wahren Wert vergißt.
Nur ein Gedanke macht mich krank:
Wär' diese Erde eine Bank,
Ich hätte glatt gewettet,
Sie wäre längst gerettet.

In her eyes, stock prices flicker
And returns are her capital.
Like in a casino, without regard for losses, maximizing.
So many zeros in transit
That even the smartest of minds is spinning.
And that one little finger
Please just don't get confused by the buttons.
To gamble with rice and corn
Is daily bread in these circles.
People are starving
And the stock market craves the highest bid.

Because in the intoxication of numbers
The true value is forgotten.
The ruble rolls, the euro fluctuates
And to the abyss it is only a step.
With all the failures, bad luck and breakdowns
The professional wants the profit.
If he loses despite the winnings
Then only his own mind.
And when the water is up to his neck,
Then the public hand helps - of course.
Billions race around the globe
And the pulse races until the heart attack.
Even finance ministers fail
Because only the market is still omnipotent.
How often have we been short
Before the big crash, deeply shocked.
Some Lehman Brother or other has
Unfortunately gambled away again.
This is the ENORMOUS GREED

If this earth were a bank
