The fruit man sold the guava to the black man
The black man peeled the skin with the bare hand
A juice man took a stand with the fruit man
And they cooked up the fish brought in fresh from the ocean

The fish man sold an axe to the boat man
A chinaman caused a scene with the black man
Accused him of selling fish that was frozen
The black man yelled at the chinaman,

"It is not broken. It is not frozen. The fish it was just caught in the ocean.
I do not steal. Don′t breathe another sound or I'll take that fish and return it to the ocean."

The fruit man consoled the black man
The boatman explained to the chinaman

And the fish they swam, they swam in the ocean

Le marchand de fruits a vendu la goyave au Noir
Le Noir a pelé la peau à main nue
Un marchand de jus s'est joint au marchand de fruits
Et ils ont cuisiné le poisson frais de l'océan

Le pêcheur a vendu une hache au marin
Un Chinois a fait un scandale avec le Noir
L'accusant de vendre du poisson congelé
Le Noir a crié au Chinois,

"Il n'est pas cassé. Il n'est pas congelé. Le poisson vient d'être pêché dans l'océan.
Je ne vole pas. Ne fais plus de bruit ou je prendrai ce poisson et le renverrai à l'océan."

Le marchand de fruits a consolé le Noir
Le marin a expliqué au Chinois
Et il faisait sombre, vraiment sombre, avec le soleil couchant
Et les poissons nageaient, ils nageaient dans l'océan
