Neulich musst′ ich wieder mal mein Schwesterherz besuchen.
Das mach' ich nicht wirklich gerne,
Zwar wohnt sie nicht in der Ferne
Und sie backt ′nen ziemlich exzellenten Apfelkuchen,
Aber wenn ich sie mal treffe,
Ist da auch mein kleiner Neffe.
Der ist jedes Mal, wenn wir uns je gesehen haben,
So nach außen hin ganz friedlich,
Manche sagen sogar "niedlich".
Doch ich spür', dass sich bei diesem achtjährigen Knaben
Alle Anzeichen verdichten:
Dieser Knirps will mich vernichten.
Er sagt immer: "Du, ich hole
Schon mal schnell die Spielkonsole,
Meine Playstation zwei –
Hast du Angst? Bist du dabei?"
Das bedeutet Krieg!
Jetzt gibt's nicht mehr viel zu lachen.
Der will mich nur fertigmachen.
Hier geht′s nur noch um den Sieg.
Das GamePad, das man mal vor hundert Jahren "Joystick" nannte,
Hat gefühlte vierzig Tasten,
Und ich denke: "Wie geht das denn?"
Wir spiel′n ein Autorennen, das ich früher ganz gut kannte.
Ich bin gerade erst gestartet.
Er steht schon im Ziel und wartet.
Schon greift er gelangweilt zum brandneuen "FIFA Soccer",
Doch ich komm vor lauter Knöpfen
Nicht zum Schießen oder Köpfen.
Schnell steht's 0: 8, und ich fall geradewegs vom Hocker.
Da hat er schon ohne Gnaden
So ein Horrorspiel geladen:
Einen harten Ego-Shooter,
Und total gerissen tut er
So, als würd′s ihm nicht gefall'n,
Mich andauernd abzuknall′n.
Das bedeutet Krieg...
Diese Schlacht hab ich verloren,
Doch ich geb mich nicht geschlagen:
Ich sehe seine Mutter
Sehr verständnislos an und
Sage: "Du, mir kam zu Ohren,
Dass die Psychologen sagen,
Zu viel Ballerspiele seien
Grad für Kinder ungesund."
Tja. Mein kleiner Neffe liest jetzt jeden Tag ein Buch.
Und sein Onkel ist für ihn ein rotes Tuch.

That Means War

The other day I had to visit my sister again.
I don't really like to do that,
Although she doesn't live far away
And she bakes an excellent apple pie,
But when I see her
My little nephew is there too.
Every time we've seen each other
He's always been so peaceful on the outside,
Some even say "cute".
But I can feel that in this eight-year-old boy

That means war!
Now there's not much to laugh about anymore.
He just wants to finish me off.
This is all about victory.
The gamepad, which a hundred years ago was called a "joystick"
Has forty buttons, I swear,
And I think: "How does that even work?"
We're playing a car race that I used to be quite good at.
I've only just started.
He's already waiting at the finish line.
He's already grabbing the brand new "FIFA Soccer" with boredom,
But I can't shoot or head
Because of all the buttons.
It's 0:8 in no time and I fall right off the stool.
Without mercy, he has already loaded
Such a horror game:
A tough first-person shooter,
And very cunning, he pretends
As if he didn't like it
Killing me all the time.
That means war...
I lost this battle,
But I won't give up:
I look at his mother
Very perplexed and
Say: "Hey, I heard
That psychologists say
That too many shooting games are
Especially unhealthy for children."
Well. My little nephew now reads a book every day.
And his uncle is a red rag to a bull for him.
