U aprilu Sombor varoš zazeleni,
Pa šetaju gospojice, blago meni.
Isprse se brezobrazno,
Pa mi glavom klimnu mazno,
A mene čeka bela lađa.
A kad odem ne vraćam se do jeseni.
Udaće se mnoge dotle, blago meni.
"Dobar veče, kapetane",
Laku noć vam želim dame,
Na mene čeka bela lađa.
Moram da idem sad, bo me, ni mi je lako,
Al' bolje tako, da ja krenem polako.
Moram da idem sad jer ću baciti sidro
Pa zbogom Vidro, ostaću tu.
Od Zemuna do Pasove voda peni,
A u Pešti promenada, blago meni.
Brinuti sam, kerem sepe,
Mađarice moje lepe,
A mene čeka bela lađa.
Moram da idem sad, bo me, ni mi je lako,
Al' bolje tako, da ja krenem polako.
Moram da idem sad jer ću baciti sidro
Pa zbogom Vidro, ostaću tu.

Od šešira raznoraznih, blago meni,
I frajlica što ih nose, nasmešene, zlatokose,
A mene čeka bela lađa.

White Ship

In April Sombor town went green,
So ladies walk around, oh lucky me.
They strut shamelessly,
Nodding their heads at me coquettishly,
But a white ship awaits me.
And when I'm gone, I won't return till fall.
Many will marry by then, oh lucky me.

For a white ship awaits me.

But it's better thus, that I set off slowly.

So farewell Vidro, I'll stay there.
From Zemun to Pašova the waters foam,
And in Pest is the promenade, oh lucky me.
I'm worried, kerem sepe,
My beautiful Hungarian,
