Đâu đấy buông lững lờ tiếng chuông
Đôi cánh chim bâng khuâng rã rời
Cùng mây xám về ngang lưng trời
Thời gian như ngừng trong tê tái
Cây trút lá cuốn theo chiều mây
Mưa giăng mắc nhớ nhung, tiêu điều
Sương thướt tha bay, ôi! đìu hiu

The evening is yet to fall, but the night is drawing near

The birds are circling, their wings weary and worn
As they fly into the gray clouds that gather in the sky
Time seems to stand still in the numbing cold
The trees shed their leaves, carried away by the wind
The rain falls, heavy with memories and sorrow
The mist drifts by, oh! how desolate it is
