Мороз железо рвёт
И на лету бьёт стаи птиц.
И камни поглощает лёд,
И города съедает в миг.
Замела-завыла в городах,
Опустилась мгла.
Оставляя лёд там, где текла
Талая вода.
Дюжий движется мороз,
Тихой поступью идёт.
Вьюга тянет небосвод,
И зима берёт своё.
Но когда!
Она вернётся громко
В города!
И сбросят крыши белый снег и только
Только так!
Она покажет себя нам
И никогда!
Она не приходит одна
С ней блеск ручьёв!
И звёздная ночь и первый
Тёплый дождь!
Ты лей на нас мы будем ждать тебя
Ещё сильней!
И тёмных парусов твоих и белых
Кораблей!
В домах мы открываем окна
И наш очаг!
Станет для них
Как новый причал!

Frost tears through iron
And strikes down flocks of birds in flight.
It swallows stones in ice
And devours cities in an instant.
It has swept and howled through the cities
And darkness has descended,
Leaving ice where once flowed
Thawed water.
Winter's grip intensifies,
It stalks with silent steps.
The snowstorm stretches the heavens,
And winter takes its toll.
But when!
It will return with a roar
To the cities!
And rooftops will shed their white burden and only
Only so!
Will it reveal itself to us
And never!
It does not come alone
With it, the glimmer of streams!
And a starry night and the first
Warm rain!
Pour on us, we will await you
With even greater intensity!
And your dark and white sails
Of ships!
We open our windows in our homes
And our hearths!
