Вот и нету его
Только крест на могиле
Только горы цветов
И огромный провал
Так никто никогда
Не споет в этом мире
Про веселую жизнь
И колючий централ

Пусть опять захлестнет
Горло жгучей петлей
Песня в небо взлетит
С перебитым крылом
Сорок струн он порвал
Под тверскою луной
Когда песню нам пел
Приходите в мой дом

Злые люди пришли
Наплевали на душу
Был Есенин у нас,
Был у нас Михаил...
Видно тот, кто стрелял
Эти песни послушал
И огромную злобу
В душе затаил

Общей меры здесь нет
Ведь всегда так в России
Чем богаче душа
Тем нелепее смерть
Он прощал многим все
Но ему не простили
И не дали сказать
И не дали допеть

На Руси так всегда
Пули ищут поэта
Опоздали друзья
И врачи не смоги
И как птица в окно
Залетела примета
И пошли сорок дней
Продавать за рубли

Вот и нету его
Он конечно был первый
В мире много добра
И немеренно зла
А над Тверью горят
С беспредельною верой
Золотые кресты
Золотые его купола
