Мне с жизнью холостой пришлось проститься
Уж очень этот быт меня заел
Решил и я, друзья мои, жениться
Чтоб избежать домашних всяких дел

Теперь, с супругой, время коротая
Я ощутил женитьбы этой вред
Она романы модные читает
А я стираю да варю обед

Снова быт, снова быт, быт заедает

Мы в кооператив анкету сдали
Построимся, пусть бесятся враги
И мебель, и бельишко распродали
И по уши залезли все в долги

А дом готов, пора переселяться
Была б кровать - поставили б в углу
Но чтоб с долгами, братцы, рассчитаться
Придётся спать три года на полу

Снова быт, снова быт, быт заедает
И как с ним быть, как с ним быть – прямо и не знаю

Купили полированную мебель
На радость и соседям, и гостям
Кто только ни смотрел, кто только не был
И все вокруг завидовали нам

Гостям то что - сиди, соси конфетки
А мне – не тронь, не встань, не ляг, не сядь
Обедаю теперь на табуретке
Чтоб на столе следов не оставлять

На лето переехали на дачу
Здоровую овчарку завели, вот какую
Чтоб эту дачу не упёрли, значит
И нас бы заодно не унесли

Красивая собака, дорогая
Ведь украдут же, ясно дураку
Не спит собака, дачу охраняет
И я не сплю – собаку стерегу

В искусстве я ценителем был тонким
И живопись, и зодчество любил, прямо обожал
Теперь вокруг кастрюли да пелёнки
Театры и музеи я забыл

Сижу у телевизора, старею
Вдвоём с женой играем в "дурака"
И кто кого из нас двоих дурнее
Не выяснили мы ещё пока... Ой

А жизнь бежит в заботах неотложных
Уж четверть века я давно прошёл
Работаю, друзья мои, как лошадь
А получаю – вроде как осёл

И целый день приходится носиться
То в ясли, то на рынок, то к врачу
А ночью холостая жизнь мне снится
Я даже просыпаться не хочу

Everyday Life

I had to say goodbye to my bachelor life,
This everyday routine really got to me.
I decided, my friends, to take a wife,
To escape all the household chores, you see.

Now, spending time with my spouse so dear,
I've felt the downside of married life's plight.
She reads trendy novels, that's quite clear,
While I do laundry and cook day and night.

Everyday life, everyday life, it's wearing me down,
What to do with it, what to do – I just don't know how.

We submitted our application to the co-op,
We'll build, let the enemies fume and fret.
We sold furniture and linens, non-stop,
And got ourselves into deep debt, I bet.

The house is ready, time to move in,
If we had a bed, we'd put it in the nook.
But to pay off our debts, where to begin?
We'll have to sleep on the floor for three years, look.

Everyday life, everyday life, it's wearing me down,
What to do with it, what to do – I just don't know how.

We bought polished furniture so grand,
To the delight of neighbors and each guest.
Everyone came to see, it was unplanned,
And all around envied us, I attest.

Guests have it easy, they sit and suck on sweets,
But me – don't touch, don't stand, don't lie down, don't take a seat.
I now eat lunch on a stool, can't you see?
So as not to leave marks on the table, complete.

What to do with it, what to do – I just don't know how.
And it gets worse

For summer, we moved to the dacha, you know,
Got ourselves a healthy German Shepherd, quite a sight.
So that this dacha wouldn't get stolen, so,
And we wouldn't be taken away in the night.

A beautiful dog, quite expensive, it's true,
They'll steal it, even a fool can understand.
The dog doesn't sleep, guards the dacha, it's due,
And I don't sleep either – I guard the dog, hand in hand.

What to do with it, what to do – I just don't know how.

In art, I was a connoisseur, refined and keen,
Loved painting and architecture, adored them all.
Now surrounded by pots and diapers, I've seen,
Theaters and museums I recall.

I sit by the TV, growing old and gray,
With my wife, we play "Durak", just us two.
And which one of us is more foolish, I'd say,
We haven't figured out yet, it's true... Oh.

Everyday life, everyday life, it's wearing me down,
What to do with it, what to do – I just don't know how.

And life rushes on with urgent cares,
A quarter of a century has passed, I've found.
I work like a horse, my friends, it's not fair,
And get paid – like a donkey, I'm bound.

And all day long, I have to rush about,
To daycare, to the market, to the doctor's door.
And at night, I dream of my bachelor route,
I don't even want to wake up anymore.
