Моя Одесса

Пахнет морем, и луна висит над самым Лонжероном,
И каштаны тихо шепчутся с бульваром полусонным.
Спят фонтаны, занавешены фруктовыми садами. /
От бульвара книзу лестница сбегает прямо к порту.
В Лунном парке обсуждаются и браки, и аборты.
Натюрморты, те которые в Аркадии на пляже,
Не покажут в знаменитом Ленинградском Эрмитаже.
Нет Одессы без Привоза и без Нового базара.
Там покрыты покупатели и матом, и загаром.
По бульварам пьяный запах распустившейся сирени, 2
Над причалом маяка огонь и лес портовых кранов.
В море - чайки, а над ними гордо кружатся бакланы.
Рестораны осветили побережье огоньками,
Звон бокалов, и поет гитара за Одессу-маму.
И в загранке я всегда тебя по памяти рисую,
Молдаванку, и булыжную родную мостовую,
И Пиресы, пробудившиеся от первого трамвая,
И, как в детстве, я по солнечному городу шагаю. 2

My Odessa

The smell of the sea, and the moon hangs over the very Zheronov,
And the chestnuts whisper quietly with the boulevard half-asleep.
The fountains are sleeping, curtained by fruit gardens. /
From the boulevard the stairs run down straight to the port.
In the Moon Park, marriages and abortions are discussed.
Still lifes, the ones that are on the beach in Arcadia,
Will not be shown in the famous Leningrad Hermitage.
There is no Odessa without Privoz and Novy Bazaar.
The buyers are covered there with mats and suntan.
On the boulevards the drunken smell of blossoming lilacs, 2
Above the pier the lighthouse fire and a forest of port cranes.
In the sea - seagulls, and above them cormorants circle proudly.
The restaurants illuminated the coast with lights,
The ringing of glasses, and a guitar sings for Odessa-mother.
And abroad I always draw you from memory,
Moldavanka, and the native cobblestone pavement,
And Piryosy, awakened by the first tram,
And I walk through the sunny city, like in childhood. 2
