Ах, не имейте сто рублей, а сто друзей имейте

Пока же, как сумеете, себе уразумейте
Что тут не в поговорке суть, а кое в чём другом
Друзья теперь дешёвые, а деньги вздорожали
И любит счёт копеечка, и любит счёт пятак
Рубли у нас на улицах валяться перестали
Зато друзья, наоборот, лежат, да ещё как!

И заимел я сто друзей. А что мне оставалось?
И сразу дома у себя поставил круглый стол
И сто приборов на столе на том располагалось
И сто бутылок было там, и рюмок тоже сто
Мои любезные друзья упрямиться не стали
На приглашение моё кивнули, не чинясь
И все пришли, и все вошли, и жутко натоптали
Разлили враз и чокнулись, и дружба началась

И сотня тостов прозвучать успела в одночасье
И сотня глоток пела гимн, и не скучал никто
Посуду били щедро так, что, если б это к счастью
Я был бы счастлив тыщу лет. По крайней мере - сто
Но я всё думал и гадал: вот если бы да кабы!.
И про себя подсчитывал, что вдруг да каждый друг
Принёс бы мне по сотенке, по сотенке хотя бы!.
И всё не мог я сосчитать - захватывало дух

Перед уходом каждый друг почёл первейшим долгом
Мне высказать свою любовь и множество похвал
И каждый руку мне сжимал усердно и подолгу
Мне даже стало больно, но я виду не подал
Я улыбался и в уме хвалил свою проделку
В конце концов и сто друзей довольны были мной
И попросили, уходя, взаймы на опохмелку
И я им выдал по рублю, и сто рублей долой

One Hundred Friends

Before leaving, each friend considered it their duty
To express their love and many compliments to me
And each one squeezed my hand hard and for a long time
It even hurt me, but I didn't show it
I smiled and mentally praised my prank
In the end, my hundred friends were happy with me
And asked me for a loan for a hangover
And I gave them a ruble each, and a hundred rubles gone
