My Way

And now, the end is near;
And so I face the final curtain.
My friend, I'll say it clear,
I'll state my case, of which I'm certain.
I've lived a life that's full.
I've traveled each and every highway;
And more, much more than this,

To think I did all that;
And may I say - not in a shy way,

I did it my way".
For what is a man, what has he got?
If not himself, then he has naught.
To say the things he truly feels;
And not the words of one who kneels.
The record shows I took the blows -
And did it my way!

Et maintenant, la fin est proche;
Je fais donc face au rideau final.
Mon amie, je le dirai clairement,
Je présenterai mon cas, dont je suis certain.
J'ai vécu une vie pleine.
J'ai parcouru chaque route et chaque chemin;

Mais à travers tout cela, quand il y avait un doute,
Je l'ai avalé et recraché.
J'ai fait face à tout et je me suis tenu debout;
Et je l'ai fait à ma façon.
J'ai aimé, j'ai ri et j'ai pleuré.
J'ai eu ma part, ma part de pertes.
Et maintenant, alors que les larmes s'apaisent,
Je trouve tout cela tellement amusant.
Penser que j'ai fait tout cela;
Et puis-je dire - pas timidement,
"Oh non, oh non pas moi,
Je l'ai fait à ma façon".
Car qu'est-ce qu'un homme, qu'a-t-il de plus?
S'il n'a pas lui-même, alors il n'a rien.
Dire ce qu'il ressent vraiment;
Et non pas les paroles de celui qui se prosterne.
Les preuves montrent que j'ai encaissé les coups -
Et je l'ai fait à ma façon!
