Есть в дожде откровенье - потаенная нежность.
и старинная сладость
примиренной дремоты,

и трепещет душа усыпленной природы.

первобытное снова оживает поверье.
Сочетаются Небо и Земля, как впервые,
и великая кротость разлита в предвечерье.
Роковое томленье по загубленной жизни,
неотступную думу: "Все напрасно, все поздно!"
Или призрак тревожный невозможности утра
и страдание плоти, где таится угроза.
В этом сером звучанье пробуждается нежность,

но надежды невольно обращаются в скорби,
созерцая погибель этих капель на стеклах.
Тишине ты лепечешь первобытную песню
и листве повторяешь золотое преданье,
а пустынное сердце постигает их горько

В сердце те же печали, что в дожде просветленном,

Rain

There's a revelation in the rain - a hidden tenderness,

Heaven and Earth unite, as for the first time,
and a great meekness is spread in the twilight.

a persistent thought: "All is in vain, all is too late!"

and the desolate heart comprehends them bitterly
in the hopeless and black pentagram of suffering.
In the heart are the same sorrows as in the enlightened rain,
a reconciled grief for an unrealized hour.
A constellation arises for me in the heavens,
but my heart prevents me from contemplating this happiness.
