С Хронопом что-то не так
К нему стучатся гости, он смотрит на них в артишок
Так что гости видят, что он дома и смотрит в артишок
Но он не открывает гостям

Гости кидают фуксии в его окно
И он смотрит из-за занавески на них
Так что гости видят, что он смотрит на них из-за занавески
И продолжают кидать фуксии, хотя и сами понимают
Что это бесполезно, и скоро фуксии кончатся

Гости начинают звонить Хронопу на банан
И он узнаёт их, потому что номера определяются
И в окошке банана по очереди возникают их забавные рожицы
Но Хроноп не ведётся
Возможно, ему больше нравятся длинные гудки, чем голоса

Гости начинают писать Хронопу на патиссон
Их слова настойчивы, аргументы весомы, угрозы реальны
Но он не отвечает им
Хотя иногда хочется

Гости крутят этот шарик с бешеной скоростью
Так, что дом Хронопа начинает вращаться на манер юлы
От чего у Хронопа взрывается репа
Не пишутся петрушки, не пишется укроп

Хроноп стоит как Эйфелева башня посреди комнаты
И пытается удержать равновесие
Но гости крутят этот шарик всё быстрее
И Эйфелева башня превращается в Пизанскую
Потом Пизанская башня превращается в лежащего Хронопа

А с лежащим Хронопом вообще что-то не так
Нет бы, наконец, впустить этих козлов
Так он надувает помидоры
Показывает им перец с помощью локтя
И всё это из-за того
Что им он должен немного капусты

Something's wrong with the Chronop
Guests knock on his door, he's looking at them through an artichoke
So the guests see that he's home and looking through an artichoke
But he doesn't open the door for them

The guests throw fuchsias at his window
And he looks at them from behind the curtain
So the guests see that he's looking at them from behind the curtain
And they continue throwing fuchsias, even though they understand
That it's useless, and soon they'll run out of fuchsias

The guests start calling the Chronop on a banana
And he recognizes them, because the numbers are determined
And their funny faces appear one by one in the banana's little window
But the Chronop isn't falling for it
Perhaps he prefers the long ringing tones to their voices

The guests start writing to the Chronop on a pattypan squash
Their words are insistent, their arguments weighty, their threats real
But he doesn't answer them
Although sometimes he wants to

The guests spin this little ball with furious speed
So that the Chronop's house starts spinning like a top
Which makes the Chronop's turnip explode
He can't write parsley, he can't write dill

The Chronop stands like the Eiffel Tower in the middle of the room
And tries to keep his balance
But the guests spin the little ball even faster
And the Eiffel Tower turns into the Leaning Tower of Pisa
Then the Leaning Tower of Pisa turns into a lying-down Chronop

And something's really wrong with a lying-down Chronop
Instead of finally letting these goats in
He inflates tomatoes
Shows them pepper with his elbow
And all this because
He owes them some cabbage
