А я нашел этот дом через много лет.
Мне сказали, что в нем я найду ответ...
На любой вопрос, что на ум пришел,
И хоть не верил я, но искать пошел.

А он сидел у окна, глядя сквозь века.
В голове седина и в глазах тоска.
А на вопросы мои он не отвечал,
И лишь когда я умолк, просто мне сказал:

"Вздор, все это вздор! Хоть мне уже все равно, знай одно:
Что есть то есть, того что было не вернуть, не изменить ни дня.
Раз ты нашел мой дом, то знай, когда-нибудь ты сменишь здесь меня!
И это будет твой дом!."

И после этого он говорил до утра,
И о том, что есть, и что было вчера,
И о том, что будет, и будет ли,
И о том, что есть на краю земли.

Но настал рассвет и пропел петух.
Его цепкий взгляд в тот же миг потух,
В тот же самый миг он исчез как дым,
Растворившись в плеске речной воды.

И я остался один.
Но то, что он говорил, помню я:

"Вздор, все это вздор! Хоть мне уже все равно, знай одно:
Что есть то есть, того что было не вернуть, не изменить ни дня.
Раз ты нашел мой дом, то знай, когда-нибудь ты сменишь здесь меня!
И это будет твой дом!."

С той поры прошло очень много лет,
И объездил я весь белый свет:
Ближние места, дальние края...
Но надежда есть, где бы ни был я
Что это лишь сон... только лишь сон...
И я не стану как он...

Ну а время шло, отбивая такт.
Я забыть этот сон не могу никак,
Я искал интерес, но не находил,
Зная все про всех, был таким как был.

Но как, как же мне быть.
Как этот сон позабыть... ведь помню я:

"Вздор, все это вздор! Хоть мне уже все равно, знай одно:
Что есть то есть, того что было не вернуть, не изменить ни дня.
Раз ты нашел мой дом, то знай, когда-нибудь ты сменишь здесь меня!
И это будет твой дом!."

Yellow Dream House, Part 1

And I found this house many years later.
They told me that I would find the answer in it...
To every question that came to mind,
