לא נפרח כבר פעמיים, והרוח על המים,
יפזר דממה צוננת על פנינו החיוורות
שמה בין איבי הנחל, בשעה אחת נשכחת,
זכרונות אזוב שלנו מתרפקים על הקירות.

בלי תוגה, כפופי צמרת, בלוריות שיבה נבדרת
באשר יפות התואר, בין שריקות העדרים.
תפנוקי גוון ירטיטו, בלכתן לרחוץ בזרם
נכלמים נשפיל עיננו, אל המים הקרירים.

לא נוסיפה עוד לנוע, משתאים נביט ברוח
איך הוא יחד עם המים, מפרקים את הסלעים.
תאנה חנטה פגיה, והנשר היגע -
אל קינו חזר בחושך מדרכי האלוהים.

הרדופים שלי, כמוני, וכמוך שכל ימייך,

My Beloved

We won't blossom together twice, and the wind upon the waters,
Will scatter a chilly silence o'er our pale faces
There, 'midst the stream's rushes, at a forgotten hour,
Our memories of hyssop cling to the walls.

Without melancholy, with drooping tops, with graying hair,
Where the handsome ones have gone, 'midst the whistling of the flocks.
Vivacities of color will quiver, as they go to bathe in the stream
Ashamed, we shall cast down our eyes, to the cool waters.

We shall cease to move, we shall gaze in wonder at the wind
How it, together with the waters, erodes the rocks.
A fig has ripened prematurely, and the weary eagle -
Has returned to his nest in the darkness, from the paths of the gods.
