My Longing (In Shawqi)

(Prelude)
I surrender my affairs to You, my Lord,
Other than You, I find none to pity my heart's woes.
The wretched, You enrich with Your grace,
And the despairing, You regard with Your justice.
I repent to You, and my reliance is on You.
My longing for the Lord of the Worlds
Has consumed me.
His luminous breath,
So forgive me for my love of Taha (Prophet Muhammad),
Taha, a Prophet, Hashimite,
A refined Adnanite.
My love for the Beloved is pure, my dear,
From hypocrisy and the desire for reputation, truly.
