مربع المجد مورق وأنيق
والليالي من عشـقه لا تفيـق
حاليات بذكره
حاويات حسن مغناه وهو عرق عريق
رق فينا وراق ثم تمنى
والأمـاني غصنهن وريـق
قد خبرنا الزمان في حالتيه
وبلوناه وهو غـض رشـيق
ليس في عرفنا بأن لا نبالي
لا ولا خلقنا بخطب يضيـق
قال من قال أين منا المرجى

لو لأعلى رفعت عينك يوما
كنت أبصرتني مكاني عتيـق
لم أبدله لم أزل في مداري
سـائرا والسما لـدي الطريق
إن أصاب البلدان قحط وجدب
وابتلى أهلها الزمان الصفيـق
فهو دأب الحياة خير وشر
وهو شأن الوجود يسر وضيق
وإذا ما سحائب الصيف مرت
فدجاهـا لعزمنـا لا يعيـق
وأنا كل همي شعبي
وبحسن الثناء شعبي حقيـق

Al Amal

The square of glory is verdant and elegant
And the nights don't wake from its love
Beaming with its memory
Brimming with the beauty of its songs, a noble lineage
It danced within us and flourished, then wished
And hopes are their branches and leaves
We have known time in both its states
And tested it while it was fresh and graceful
It is not in our nature to be indifferent
Nor were we created for narrow speeches
They said, "Where is our hope from?"
And I said, "Here I am, my friend"
If you ever raised your eyes to the heights
You would have seen me, my place is ancient
I have not changed it, I still abide in my orbit
Walking, and the heavens are my path
If drought and famine strike the lands
And the brazen time tests its people
Such is the habit of life, good and evil
Such is the nature of existence, ease and hardship
And when the summer clouds pass
Their determination will not hold back our resolve
And all my concern is my people
And my people deserve the best praise
