Summertime Record

Yesterday and today, the weather's been clear,
I was looking at the towering cumulonimbus clouds.

It's a fine day, almost too good to be true,
I slowly closed my eyes,

For some reason, it seems I can't easily
Recall “that”.

Steeped in the reality
That I've gotten older.

With a plan that pretended to be grown-up,
Making a mysterious signal,

“Let’s go, it’s war again today,”
I said, facing you and taking your hand.

Unreasonableness is only natural,
Forced to be alone,

I was lost,
On the verge of becoming melancholic.

Parting the tall grass,
Staring at the shimmering sun,

You said,
“If you’re lonely, come here.”

The noise knocked, and
Even the feelings that were born
Floated up in my mind and withered.

“Is it an illusion?”

Gathering at the secret base,
The simple “It’s fun,”
Remembering those days,
Let’s talk.

The contrails flew by,
“It’s so dazzling,” you cried.

What kind of face did you have?
Why is it, I can’t remember?

The reality is so painful,
It ran past so quickly.

The today I chose is ordinary,
Days that feel like they're about to crumble.

Yesterday and today are an extension of the battle,
Even adults are cowardly.

Now, somehow,
It seems like I've noticed.

The idea of the revolving world,
The withering sun, the scorching heat,
The flames wavered.

“Don’t forget, come on, let’s move on,”
No matter how frustrating it was,
I was dreaming of tomorrow,
To a world that doesn’t go back, a world that goes forward,
“Let’s change it, together.”
“Remember, even if it’s over.
The secret base, the adventures,
The story of us getting lost that day.”
The lonely children gathered,
Their plan
Starts to turn again today.
“Somewhere again.”
“It’s cool,” we said to each other,
The summer sky is transparent.
So I won’t cry, I breathe it in,
Let’s say “goodbye.”
Gathering at the secret base,
On a summer day filled with laughter,
“I wonder if we’ll meet again somewhere
And remember,”
