五月雨

ある日、本心が降りてきて
ずぶ濡れな僕に「つまらない」とこう言った
それが聞こえなかった僕は
雨に打たれながらずっと傘を探し続けていた

本心は雨に打たれながら僕の後をずっとついてきた
別に何をするでもなくまるで雨に打たれるのが
嬉しいかの様に笑いながら

ふと空を見上げると電線には一匹の小鳥
悲しそうに泣いている
突然降り始めた五月の雨は
僕等には冷たすぎた

この雨が降り始めた頃皆と飛び立てなかった小鳥は
一人で飛び立とうとして深い傷を負ってしまう
もう大好きなあの娘ともあの空を飛び回る事も出来ず
何も出来ず悲しくて死んでしまう

結局雨がやむまで傘を見つけられなかった僕に
本心は泣きながら小さな傘を差しだしてきた
何も言わず受け取る僕を見て
「つまらない」とこう言った

雨の中でひとりぼっちの僕と
群からはぐれて傷ついた小鳥
突然降り始めた五月の雨は
僕等には冷たすぎた

この雨が降り始めた頃皆と飛び立てなかった小鳥は
一人で飛び立とうとして深い傷を負ってしまう
もう大好きなあの娘ともあの空を飛び回る事も出来ず
何も出来ず悲しくて悲しくて死んでしまう

やっと雨がやみ明るい光が空から差し込み始める頃
小鳥は土の上に冷たい躯で横たわっていた
あの日あの時あの場所にあの雨さえ降らなければ
小鳥は今頃皆と一緒に大空を飛び回っていたんだろう

Rainy May

One day, my true essence descended
and drenched me, saying, "You're nothing but boredom"
Unable to hear, even then
I kept searching for an umbrella in the pouring rain

My true essence followed me, drenched in the rain
Not doing anything in particular, as if it were
pleasantly surprised to be out in the rain

Suddenly looking up at the sky, I saw a lone bird on the power line
crying so sadly
The rain that had begun falling out of nowhere in May
was too cold for us

Around the time this rain began, the little bird who had failed to fly away with the others
was trying to fly alone but had badly injured itself
No longer able to fly together through the sky with that favorite girl
it died sadly and alone

In the end, after failing to find an umbrella before the rain stopped
my true essence tearfully held out a tiny one for me
Watching me silently accept it
it said, "How boring"

All alone in the rain, I
and the little bird that had lost its flock and had been hurt
The rain that had begun falling out of nowhere in May
was too cold for us

Around the time this rain began, the little bird who had failed to fly away with the others
was trying to fly alone but had badly injured itself
No longer able to fly together through the sky with that favorite girl
it died sadly and alone

When the rain finally stopped and the bright light of the sun began to light up the sky
the little bird lay on the ground, its body cold
If only the rain hadn't fallen then
the little bird would now be flying up in the sky with its friends
