If it were possible
to tell you everything about the past,
even though it’s impossible,
I would have prepared it in my heart.

Perhaps because it’s been unseasonably cool this year,
it feels like time is passing so quickly.
I have resolved to spend the remaining months
walking with an increased pace.
The sweet fragrance of the orange-yellow osmanthus flowers,
is almost overwhelming.
Somehow, my heart starts
pounding for no reason at all on the way home.

My feelings fall short of expectations,
I can't seem to wallow in sentimentality.
Every time I close my eyes,
the words you said that day fade away.
Before I know it, my shadow has
become elongated and unrecognizable on the ground.
