男泣きした マドロスが
恋のなきがら 埋めたか
そんな気がする 小島の磯だ

海鳴りはしても
何も言わない
まっかに錆びた
ジャックナイフが いとしいよ
俺もここまで 泣きに来た
同じおもいの 旅路の果てだ

Rusty Knife

Digging through the sand,
With my fingers I did find,
A crimson rusted,
Jackknife, left behind.
Who buried it here, I wonder,
On this small isle, autumn's thunder.

A heartless woman he did mourn,
To end his sorrow, he had sworn,
Did he travel here so far,
A sailor weeping, beneath a star?
Did he bury the remains of love's flame?
I feel it so, on this isle, the same.

The ocean roars, but tells me naught,
Yet speaks a language, dearly bought,
This crimson rusted,
Jackknife, my heart has caught.
I too, came here to weep and mend,
At journey's end, where sorrows blend.
