和尚

丛林深处一座破庙不为香客关注
一个和尚形单孤独 与世隔绝没人光顾
穿着打满补丁的僧服 寒风吹透身上的破布
看家狗瘦的皮包骨 一日三餐以吃草为主
庙里神仙破碎斑驳 依然摆着Pose瞪着眼珠
神龛前的帘布 挂着硕大的黑蜘蛛
和尚虽然没人监督 照样念经颂佛
吃粮全靠自己耕锄 见了可作荤菜的猎物不敢捕

早起晚睡看起来很忙碌 兢兢业业从不知道辛苦
偶尔来了赶路的歇脚此处 斋饭恭候并指明下山的路
要是烧香的是位年轻的女施主 吓得和尚直念阿弥陀佛
年复一年 和尚变得残年风烛

权贵财富 本是身外之物
习文弄武 求知强身之路

Monk

A dilapidated temple in the depths of the jungle, unnoticed by pilgrims
A monk, solitary and alone, isolated from the world, with no visitors
Wearing a patched-up monk's robe, the cold wind blowing through the torn fabric
A skinny, scrawny dog, its diet mainly grass
The temple's deities, broken and weathered, still standing in their poses, staring with their eyes
A large black spider hanging from the curtain in front of the altar
The monk, though unsupervised, still chants sutras and prays to Buddha
He tills the land to grow his own food, and dares not hunt animals that could be a source of meat

He seems busy, rising early and retiring late, diligent and never knowing hardship
If a traveler comes by, seeking rest, he offers them vegetarian food and shows them the way down the mountain
But if the pilgrim is a young female donor, the monk is terrified and chants Amitabha Buddha
Year after year, the monk grows old and frail
Year after year, the monk grows old and frail
Buddha in his heart, good deeds are just his duty
Helping the young and the weak, how can he turn a blind eye?
Power and wealth, mere worldly possessions
Learning literature and martial arts, the path to knowledge and strength
Buddha in his heart, good deeds are just his duty
Lonely and isolated, cultivating his mind and breaking free from the mundane
Tea is weak, food is coarse, everything is defiled as it passes through the body
Tirelessly cultivating, striving for enlightenment in the next life
