I have to dress in my costume again

So often I'm calm on the surface, but inside I'm a waterfall
My performance is always the opposite of what I feel, or there's some discrepancy
Using laughter as a curtain, letting my tears flow into my stomach
I want to escape the spotlight, so I end up living more and more alone
So the more I live, the more alone I become

I finally take off my costume
Pulling at it all my life, it's loosened my skin
A sense of relief as I lie where I belong
Leaving nothing behind but a single photo from the show
Watching the final scene
I have nothing I've had enough of but can't give up
Nor any behind-the-scenes footage I can't reveal
I think of the many episodes of my life, the reviews are mixed
In front of me are my family, my friends, my beloved
If anyone acts sad, it's my failure
Compared to them, my peaceful demeanor
Is because everything has finally come to an end, and I'm enjoying my freedom
A freedom I've never had before
