When will the bright moon come out? I ask the heavens while holding a cup of wine;
I don't know what year it is now in the celestial palace;
I desire to ride the wind to return, but I'm afraid that the magnificent palaces;
Up high, will be too cold to withstand. I dance and play with my shadow;
How could it be better than being here on Earth?

I turn to the red pavilion and lower the silk blinds, but light shines through, preventing sleep;
There should be no regrets. Why is it always full when we are apart?

People experience joy, sorrow, separation, and reunion, just as the moon goes through phases;
It's difficult to have everything in this world. I only hope that people will live long,
And share the beauty of the moon from afar.
