The Lonely Parrot

Our first encounter was on a warm sunny day,
We watched the zebras and the clumsy elephants play,
We hugged the sheep under the majestic tree,
Listened to the parrot's sweet melody.

We shared many moments filled with delight,
Wishing we could meet again, now that's out of sight,
Walking in the rain without a care,
Listening to the parrot's tune in the air.

But fate had other plans, you went far away,
Hoping for a letter, I waited every day,
Friends said it was time to move on,
But my heart was filled with sorrow,
My heart was filled with such sorrow.

Since you left, it's been half a year,
I'd love to share my news, if you'd care,
Your beloved zebra, I visit it daily,
To share my thoughts and keep it company,
Without you,
Even the animals are blue,
I hug the sheep, remembering our time.

The parrot in its cage no longer sings,
A lonely parrot, lost without your wings.

Recently, I heard some news,
That made me forget my blues,
They told me how I should move on,
But your photo haunts me, it brings me down,

I burned the rest, but I kept a few,
One by my bed, one in my room, and one by my shoe,
Wishing you were here, to hold me tight,
To feel your love, in the darkest night.
One by my side, always in sight.

The wind whispers, memories stir,
Where we once laughed, our hearts did purr,
I revisit our haunts, each place we knew,
Wondering if the zebra still misses you.

But alas, that creature shows no grief,
I'll hold the sheep, remembering our relief,
The parrot remains silent, no song to sing,
A lonely parrot, without your wing.
