Wild geese come and go, startling the fish below.
Distant green mountains, swallowed by the setting sun,
Wind and flowers, wine in hand, hot tears wetting my gown.

My jade zither weeps, telling of the past,
I wish to toast the azure sky, as twilight descends so fast.
Plants and trees know nothing of human feeling's plight,
I offer up fireflies, their glow melting into the moonlight.

I raise my head and cry out loud,
In this world of dust, I alone am awake and proud.
A true friend is hard to find,
My youthful heart, left empty and behind.
My heart is like glass, so clear,
Reflecting only old, unyielding dreams, drawing near.

I can only send it to the stars, across the vast expanse.
