1981年进入演艺圈至今，在非主流音乐界影响深远。1984年于香港商业电台担任DJ，
1985年刘以达在《摇摆双周刊》刊登广告寻找歌手，黄耀明前往试音，一拍即合。
其后俞琤介绍他们入宝丽金唱片公司，并为他们取名"达明一派"。
"达明一派"，在主流情歌以外为乐迷提供另类选择。
1990年因与刘以达在音乐理念上出现分歧而单飞，除了于1996年及2004年作两次纪念性重组外，
大部分时间都是以个人名义发展。而单飞后的黄耀明，音乐越来越华丽，
唯一不变的是作品对周遭社会文化的敏锐。
20世纪90年代中期达到其事业高峰，于1996年凭歌曲《春光乍泄》获得多个奖项，
而1997年则以《每日一禁果》得到商业电台至尊歌曲大奖等奖项。
1999年6月16日与其他多位出色音乐创作人，包括蔡德才、梁基爵、李端娴、亚里安、
于逸尧一同于香港创立人山人海音乐制作公司，培育更多音乐人才，如at17、
拜金小姐、PixelToy等。大多数时候，黄耀明处于一种"叫好不叫座"的状态，
而难能可贵的是，不论市场条件如何，他都在坚持做有创意的音乐。

Anthony Wong (born 16 June 1962) is a Hong Kong singer who was a DJ on Hong Kong Commercial Radio,
and later founded the music production company People Mountain People Sea, releasing several solo albums.
Lead singer of one of the best Hong Kong bands in the 20th century “Tat Ming Pair”. Came out as gay during a concert on April 23, 2012
Anthony Wong (also known as Anthony), was born in Hong Kong to parents from Chaozhou. He is a famous male singer in Hong Kong, and attended Kowloon Industrial School during his secondary school years,
the vocalist of the legendary Hong Kong band "Tat Ming Pair"; member of Zuni Icosahedron; and the chairman of People Mountain People Sea (music production company).
He has been active in the non-mainstream music scene since entering the entertainment industry in 1981. In 1984, he worked as a DJ at Hong Kong Commercial Radio,
In 1985, Lau Chi-Tak posted an advertisement in the "Rocking Fortnightly" looking for a singer, and Anthony Wong went to audition, and they hit it off immediately.
They were later introduced by Yu Tsang to the PolyGram record company, who named them "Tat Ming Pair".
"Tat Ming Pair" provided music fans with an alternative choice to mainstream love songs.
In 1990, due to differences in musical philosophy with Lau Chi-Tak, he went solo and has since developed under his own name, except for two commemorative reunions in 1996 and 2004.
Anthony Wong's music became increasingly extravagant after he went solo,
the only constant being his work's sensitivity to the surrounding social culture.
He reached the peak of his career in the mid-1990s, winning multiple awards for his song "Happy Together" in 1996,
and "Forbidden Fruit" in 1997, which won the Commercial Radio Ultimate Song Grand Prix and other awards.
On June 16, 1999, he founded the music production company People Mountain People Sea in Hong Kong with several other outstanding music creators, including Choi Tak-Choi, Keith Lui, Li Duanxian, Arian, and
Yu Yat-Yiu, to cultivate more musical talent, such as at17,
Missy, PixelToy etc. Most of the time, Anthony Wong is in a state of "critical acclaim but no commercial success",
and what is难得可贵 is that no matter what the market conditions are, he insists on making creative music.
