Mavado - Sadness Lyrics

Lyrics Sadness - Mavado

Did tell you it was coming; the celebration of fathers.
I am not going to make this a controversial entry because there was
No controversy surrounding fatherhood for me.
Sperm-donor is a label heard ever so often being used to refer to
It is quite appalling the number of fatherless homes that exist today.
With this in mind, it gives us an even greater reason to celebrate
Those who are still here and those who left us in body but are still
With us in spirit.
They can teach those that left or
Were just never there, how to be a father.

Selassie I
(Song fades to end)
Some of the most lasting memories of my time on this earth stemmed
From the relationship that I had with my father.
There were good and bad moments but at the end of it all,
There was always a lesson to be learnt.
Whether these lessons were directly taught or were learnt from the
Mere presence of the experience,
I cherish and hold every minute dear to my heart.
Who I am today has largely been contributed to by the moments I
Shared with my father.
One of the things that I have realized from my experience and from
Those of others is that men who grew up without the presence of a
Father, when given the opportunity, become great fathers.
There are some men who think that if they cannot provide their child
With material things then they cannot make any other contributions so
It makes sense for them to leave. The reality of life is,
A father being able to provide materially for a child is nowhere near
Half of the requirements of being a father,
The major elements that are needed cannot be bought or even seen.

(Song ends)
There aren't many songs present that contribute to the celebration of
Fathers. However, I was able to find four that are ideal for this
Entry. They speak to two topics,
The gap that is left after the loss of a brilliant father and the
Dedication that a real father will make to ensure his family is
Comfortable. I can relate to both. On the night of April 27, 2007,
My father was taken from my life as a result of the carelessness of a
Taxi driver but to the end he is the best father ever.
The lyrics of each song appeal to the
Different effects of have a wonderful father.

Dear Dad (The Letter)
By Ky-Mani Marley
INTRO
Yeah well this is the letter, whoa
Yeah well this is the letter, whoa
Yeah well this is the letter (chuckle)
Eeey goes like this, now
Dear God I have a letter here from me to dad
And I want to let you know might be a little sad
Dear God letter here from me to dad
And I want to let you know, it goes
Dear dad I didn′t get to know you
And sometimes I sit and wonder and it makes me blue
But there is one memory that stays on the back of my mind
And this memory got me thinking bout you all the time
Whoa, I swear we miss you so
And I wish that you was here to see your boys grow
In case you are wondering, mommy she's doing fine
And she tell me stories bout you papa all the time
So when I am down and out, lonely or I'm feeling blue
All I do dada dad is think of you
The thoughts alone, erase my fear and dries my tears
I am just writing to let you know someone cares
Yeah I love you, really really love you
Daddy I miss you I miss you
And I know my brothers and sisters do too
Hey I love you really really love you
Oh Lord so true, do
And I know you gave your love to the people
And some of whom you thought you did trust they deceived you
But the trial brings another day
At least that′s what my mamma say
And den, when I′m through I'll place this letter in the bible
And I′m going pray to Jah to send his disciples
To deliver you this letter, lord
It will make me feel much better now I sing
Dear God I have a letter here from me to dad
And I want to let you know might be a little sad
Dear God letter here from me to dad
And I want to let you know
P.S.
So much things I'd like to know and so much things to say
But I′m gonna save cause I know we'll be together some day
Am just writing to let you know someone cares
And to let you know you left the whole world in tears, whao
Yeah I swear, whooawooa, now
Yeah daddy I love you, really really love you
Daddy I miss you I miss you
And I know my brothers and sisters do too
Hey I love you really really love you
Oh, hear we go, hey
Dear dad I didn′t get to know you
And sometimes I sit and wonder and it makes me blue
But there is one memory that stays on the back of my mind
And this memory got me thinking bout you all the time
Whoa, I swear we miss you so
And I wish that you was here to see your boys grow
In case you are wondering, mommy she's doing fine
And she tell me stories bout you papa all the time
So when I am down and out, lonely or I'm feeling blue
All I do dada dad is think of you
The thoughts alone, erase my fear and dries my tears
I am just writing to let you know someone cares
Yeah I love you, really really love you
Daddy I miss you I miss you
And I know my brothers and sisters do too
Hey I love you really really love you
Daddy I miss you...
