Lea Salonga - My Romance / Let's Fall in Love paroles de chanson

paroles de chanson My Romance / Let's Fall in Love - Lea Salonga

Oh, come on
Did you really think I was gonna do the entire show in Filipino?
My romance doesn′t have to have a moon in the sky
My romance doesn't need a blue lagoon standing by
No month of may, no twinkling stars
No hide away, no soft guitars
My romance doesn′t need a castle rising in Spain
Nor a dance to a constantly surprising refrain
Wide awake I can make my most fantastic dreams come true
My romance doesn't need a thing but you
Let's fall in love
Why shouldn′t we fall in love?
Our hearts are made of it
Let′s take a chance
Why be afraid of it
Let's close our eyes and make our own paradise
Little we know of it, still we can try
To make a go of it
We might have been meant for each other
To be or not to be
Let our hearts discover
Let′s fall in love
Why shouldn't we fall in love
Now is the time for it, now is the time for it
Let′s fall in love
To be or not to be
Let our hearts discover
Romance
Why shouldn't we romance?
Romance
Let′s make our own romance
Little we know of it, still we can try
To make a go of it
We might have been meant for each other
Let our hearts discover
Let's fall in love
Why shouldn't we fall in love
Now is the time for it, while we are young
We can make our dreams come true
My romance
My romance
My romance
Doesn′t need a thing but you
Just you
I am from the Philippines
That is where I was born and raised
And that is where I now live with my own family
And that first song, Salamat Salamat Musika, is actually a thank you
To the music
And it′s not just that I'm being polite, but
In my home country, music is an essential part of our daily lives
I′ve been singing for as long as I can remember
And if anybody was to ask me when exactly I started singing
I don't think I could pinpoint an exact time or place or event
I do come from an artistic family
Sculptors, actors, even prima ballerinas
And my mother encouraged my brother and me to continue in the tradition
I think I was about nine years old when my mom had the bright idea
That I should record an album
But the question is, what songs?
Usually in the Philippines you′ll see these
Pretty little girls in their pretty little dresses
Singing "The minute you walked in the joint"
Or they would be singing love songs
And my mom would say
"She has no right to sing love songs"
"She's only nine, what does she know"
So we went with this
