Quirill - House by the Hills текст песни

Текст песни House by the Hills - Quirill

These are the walls my grandfather built
A house made of stones that he found on the hill
It stood there for decades in wind and rain
A home built by bare hands, by passion and pain
There behind those hills we used to gather and dine
Dancing and drinking transcending the time
But voices and fiddles have long ceased to be
Everyone is gone, left is only me
And even though they're all gone
Still this is my home
These are the houses once filled with friends
But nothing is forever, everything ends
Now they are empty, no one is there
Abandoned ruins, waiting for an heir
These are the graves of those I hold dear
They are far away and yet they are near
Peacefully sleeping unconcerned by grief
Without earthly shackles, forever they're free
And even though they're all gone
Still this is my home
I only left my island once for a while
To travel to the city, but I cannot deny
That it was too busy and I couldn't find
A place for me to stand that was not yet occupied
So I took the ferry crossing the sea
Back to the place where I needed to be
Back with the deer, the eagle and the sheep
Back to my house in the Outer Hebrides
And even though that I'll be all alone
There's no otherplace that I belong
Because it is my home
