Bill Thwing - The Graveyard's Message Songtexte

Songtexte The Graveyard's Message - Bill Thwing

The graveyard on the hillside stands
Embracing us with iron bands
Sucking us slowly into dirt
Life's joys and sorrows soon desert us
When we fly away to endless night
To whisper-shadow land's blind sight
A fate reserved for those who trod
This ancient land without their God
Or Christ to trust who shows the way
To a different kind of land they say
A bright-light land at tunnels end
Whence we're greeted by old friends
Who followed in that ancient Way
Where God, His Christ and angels play
Games of love and Kingdom Come
We would not play, they seemed so dumb
We felt above that mindless stuff
But now I fear we must now confess that
Whisper-shadows and blind sight and
Iron bands that hold us tight
In the solemn world of endless night
Is not just what we bargained for
In proud-vain days of life before
We crossed the threshold of that door
That leads to grave on lonely hill
Where days march by but time stands still
Eternity now has just begun
You can believe, it just ain't no fun
So, this advice I leave, my friend
Number your days before they end
Bow proud heart afore it's too late
The God of your people for you doth wait
To welcome you home to your native land
Where ancestors greet you with open hands
They're up there praying now for you
So, bow your heads and to them go
So, bow your heads and to them.go
