Ah, I just feel like this is yours and Amber's love story
In a nutshell, basically
And what I love about the song
Is that despite your tough guy image and your bad boy image and your bravado
It seems to me that Amber has always seen through that

I don't know that I necessarily had to try for the rough
For the bad boy image, kinda is what it is
And I don't know that I'd necessarily tried to hide
This alter side of me, but she and my mama are two people
That have always seen that side and brought that side out
But it is word for word, every word of it is true
