[Fidel Castro UN Speech excerpt 1979]
.I speak for those who are sick and have no medicine.
I speak for those who are denied life
and human dignity.
Some countries possess abundant resources,
other countries possess nothing.
What is the fate of the latter? To die of hunger?
To be eternally poor!?
Then what use is civilization?
Then what use is man's conscience?
What use is the United Nations?
What use is the world then?
We can't speak of peace
in the face of dozens of millions of human beings
who die each year from hunger or curable illnesses
across the whole world!
We can't speak of peace
in the face of nine hundred million illiterates.
The exploitation of poor countries
by rich countries must cease!
I know that in many poor countries
there are many exploiters and exploited.
I direct the rich nations to contribute
and I direct the poor ones to distribute.
Enough with words! There is a necessity for actions.
[Lyrics]
Carry me
away to a place of peace
Cause I don't ever wanna worry
'bout anything
