When I knew I was going to visit Britain earlier this year
I thought it would be a wonderful idea and opportunity
To record a whole set of British songs, that is songs that were
Written in Britain by British writers
And of course when someone came up with the title
"Great Songs From Great Britain" well that clenched it
And the hardest part in making the album was to know
What to leave out, so many great British songs were suggested
But this one was a must, definitely in from the word go
