And from that day the folks all came a crowding through the door
And Klaas had a grin from ear to ear he could not ask for more
And the Cuckoo kept on calling on the window sill
And that's the very reason there was money in the till

And Klaas's shop was saved
Then the Cuckoo said I like Klaas and I'd like you to know
I got my name from a faithful servant that lived long ago
And if I can be of service I'll live up to my name
The servant's name was Klaas our names are just the same

Vraiment Pas Cher

Il était une fois un petit homme nommé Klaas, ma chère,
Et il avait un poste de traite au milieu de la nature sauvage.
Et bien qu'il ait mis des panneaux, ce fut en vain,
Personne ne pouvait trouver sa boutique, loin des sentiers battus.
Et dans cette boutique, il avait vraiment de belles choses à échanger, ma belle :
Sucettes, barbe à papa et délicieuse limonade,
Souvenirs, bières au gingembre et jolis petits jouets,
Juste ce qu'il faut pour les adultes, les petites filles et les petits garçons.
Un jour, un petit coucou vert est passé en volant,
Il a regardé par la fenêtre et a vu Klaas sur le point de pleurer.
Il n'y avait pas de clients et il allait devoir fermer boutique,
Le coucou a dit : "Je vais t'aider Klaas, tu verras, alors n'abandonne pas."
"Vraiment pas cher, vraiment pas cher", semblait dire le coucou,
C'était le jour de chance de Klaas.
Alors le coucou s'est envolé jusqu'au coin où se rejoignent les grandes routes,
Et il s'est perché dans un grand arbre et s'est mis à chanter.
Et les gens se sont tous arrêtés, et par curiosité,
Ils ont suivi le petit coucou alors qu'il volait d'arbre en arbre.
"Vraiment pas cher, vraiment pas cher, venez acheter,
Suivez-moi et ne soyez pas timides."
Et à partir de ce jour, les gens sont venus en foule par la porte,
