Every now and then you still cross through my mind
Senior year love, reminiscing about the time
Sex after school, smoke a blunt and unwind
Simple times entering the mind
Life is sublime, no obsession over grinds
Working over time
Never worried how the stars would align
Only cared about how you and I would combine
2010, College man now
Only thing I cared about was a night out on the town
Then I got that phone call about my grandma
And my whole entire world came on crashing down
Like goddamn, stroke up in the brain
Conversation with the doctor said she'll never be the same
Looking back, if I keep it real
I think that was the reason and the start for all my pain
2014, Nothing you could tell me
Living out in London and my life is like a dream
About to graduate from college and I'm popping on the scene
Plans of making money as I do my music thing
Shit was nothing like it seemed
2016, Degree up in my hand but I still can't find a job
24 Years old and I'm living at my pops
Student loans piling up, had to pull out all the stops
Landed me a 9 to 5 just to make some extra guap
2017, that's when I met my queen
She put me back together when my life was incomplete
Got a place together out in Philly and I'm back to making heat
2019, Out in LA not on vacay
This time we were coming here to stay
If I'm gonna make it big, then I gotta

Call from my mom
Can't believe that this was life
My grandmother passed and I'm thinking where was I
I left it all behind so I could try and be a star overnight
Forgive me, gotta make the next flight

It's times like these where I just think
Why can't we go back to when it was all simple
