Songtexte Homesick For Heaven - The Way Home - Phil Wickham
Hey
everyone,
Phil
here
First
off,
thanks
so
much
for
listening
to
this
song
"Homesick
For
Heaven"
It
is
a
truly
special
one
to
me
And
I
pray
it
is
a
blessing
to
anybody
who
hears
it
And
to
all
my
fam
out
there
who
is
with
me
And
looking
towards
heaven
as
your
home
and
your
future
I
pray
this
song
puts
wind
in
your
sails
And
a
fire
in
your
heart
to
live
for
heaven
today
But
as
I
was
finishing
up
this
song
and
getting
this
EP
altogether
It
dawned
on
me
that
there
may
be
some
people
that
hear
this
song
That
don't
yet
know
that
heaven
is
your
home
So
I
just
wanna
take
this
next
moment
to
speak
to
you
If
that's
you
And
I'm
gonna
start
with
a
question
Have
you
ever
felt
a
deep
ache
in
your
soul
Like
a
low
hum
beneath
the
noise
of
everyday
life
Where
you
feel
like
there's
gotta
be
something
more?
Some
place
where
peace
rains
Where
love
has
no
end
Where
tears
are
wiped
away
Where
death
is
no
more
Well,
the
Bible
calls
that
place
Heaven
And
not
harps
and
halos
But
a
real
place
The
new
heaven,
and
the
new
Earth
Where
God
himself
dwells
with
his
people
And
Jesus,
not
just
an
idea
or
historical
figure
But
the
King
Jesus,
reigns
forever
That's
the
home
my
heart
aches
for
And
friend,
I
believe
your
heart
aches
for
it
too
But
what
if
you
listen
into
this
right
now
and
you're
like
"How
can
you
know
that
that's
your
home?"
"How
can
you
know,
and
really
know,
that
you
belong
in
heaven?"
My
friend,
here's
the
good
news
You
can
know
You
were
made
to
walk
with
God
To
know
him,
to
be
with
him
forever
And
even
though
our
sin
You
know
all
that
pride,
that
brokenness,
that
rebellion
Has
separated
us
from
his
great
glory
He's
still
in
his
love
He's
made
a
way
for
us
to
get
back
to
him
In
John
3:16,
it
says
"For
God
so
loved
the
world,
that
he
gave
his
only
Son
That
whoever
believed
in
him
should
not
perish
But
have
everlasting
life."
I'll
paraphrase
that
"Because
God
loved
you
so
much
He
sent
his
son
on
a
rescue
mission
to
save
you
So
that
you
could
be
apart
of
his
family
forever."
And
I
love
that
word
"Whoever
believes
in
him"
No
past
too
ugly,
no
people
too
ugly
Everyone
is
welcomed
to
believed
and
to
be
accepted
Into
the
arms
of
Jesus
Amen
This
is
the
heart
of
the
gospel
God
sent
Jesus,
his
son,
not
to
condemn
you,
but
to
save
you
To
take
your
sin
upon
himself,
to
die
in
your
place,
and
to
rise
again
Conquering
death
so
you
could
come
home
And
here's
the
turning
point
In
Roman
10:9,
it
says
"If
you
confess
with
your
mouth
Jesus
is
Lord
And
believe
in
your
heart
that
God
raised
him
from
the
dead
You
will
be
saved."
It's
not
about
trying
harder,
it's
not
about
being
good
enough
It's
about
trusting
the
one
who
already
did
it
all
Jesus
said
in
John
14:6
"'I
am
the
way,
the
truth,
and
the
life
No
one
comes
to
the
Father
except
through
me.'"
So
if
you're
listening
right
now
and
you
feel
that
tug
That
homesick
ache
Don't
ignore
it
'Cause
I
believe
today
is
the
day
you
come
home
You
can
praise
something
like
this
Jesus,
I
believe
you
are
who
you
say
you
are
I
believed
you
died
for
me
and
rose
again
I
confess
my
need
for
you
Forgive
me,
lead
me,
be
my
savior
and
my
king
I
want
to
come
home
And
friend,
if
today
that's
your
prayer
Then
welcome,
welcome
to
the
family
of
God
You
are
loved,
you
are
forgiven,
and
you
have
a
home
A
real
one,
forever
with
Jesus
And
one
day,
in
heaven,
we're
gonna
stand
here
together
With
no
more
tears,
no
more
death
Just
life
in
joy
in
him
Until
then,
we
keep
walking
this
road
But
now
we
know
where
it
leads
