SAAVY - Changes Songtexte

Songtexte Changes - SAAVY

Lately I've been contemplating
Go beyond my wild imagination
Book a one-way flight overseas
Do away with the U.S. renegation
Everyone say fight the good fight
I do better with my hand on the mic
Use my voice as a weapon for this generation
I belong to a remnant population
'Cause I put my trust in Him, no mankind
On my Nas, I know I can now
But if I talk about God, I get gunned down
This the future of our world, no cap gown
I deny the vaccine, no job
Still got trauma from dealing with cops
Industry full of prophetic phonies
A mouthpiece for my God, I won't flop
It's been too long, I'm getting impatient
Call on God to heal the heart of a nation
I really mean to heal the heart of a race and
I speak truth but no I'm not racist
Believe in God so no I'm not atheist
Show love so no I'm not basic
Black people let's switch up the pace and
Unify 'cause the world needs changing
Racism is real
It does affect our community
However, we have to look at the principalities behind these behaviors
We must seek healing for the trauma
That we endure as a black person in America
'Cause if we don't seek God
We'll spread that same hate
ATL was Black sector back in the day
Nowadays it look more like L.A
Everybody moving here to my city
I'm mortified, they done gentrified the "A"
Still we're overlooked for our efforts
Labelled minority like lesser
Work environment full of false pressures
They won't let us be ourselves in these professions
That's why I wrote this song, I got a confession
Lately I've been battling with depression
The bills due so I gotta keep pressing
Life will teach you all the right lessons
We need change and time is of the essence
I hate the sin of a white oppressor
Throw stones while hide your hand gestures
The same greed that stole my ancestors
Not referring to 'em all in this lecture
These are problems that no one addresses
No black history in K-12 lessons
Somebody pray for the world (Intercession)
Somebody pray off anxiety, depression
Somebody pray that our people make progression
Lord forgive us for all our transgressions
When we die, we just want to go to Heaven
Lord God
I thank you for every lost soul that's listening right now
That they come to you
For healing
Despite the trauma
Despite the racism
Despite the poverty mindsets, Lord God
Heal my community
(Heal my community)
