Songtexte What Price Is Peace - Susan McCann
If
I
had
three
wishes,
The
first
one
would
be
To
change
the
whole
world
and
I'd
start
here
with
me
No
matter
what
presidents
and
others
might
tell
Well
I
believe
world
peace
begins
with
myself
And
there's
no
point
in
depending
on
our
leaders
To
bring
you
peace,
your
kind
of
peace
They'll
tell
you
it's
won
with
the
weapons
of
war
That's
peace,
their
kind
of
peace.
What
price
is
peace?
My
second
wish
has
a
difficult
part
To
take
the
aggression
from
each
human
heart
To
those
on
the
streets
of
Belfast
or
Beirut
Their
own
fathers
and
brothers,
and
lovers
they
shoot
And
there's
no
point
in
telling
the
man
with
the
gun
You
want
peace,
your
kind
of
peace
They'll
tell
you
that
freedom
on
their
selfish
terms
Is
peace,
their
kind
of
peace.
What
price
is
peace?
Well,
my
final
wish
brings
a
tear
to
my
eye
But
I'm
helpless
to
help
all
the
children
who
die
And
although
we
complain
with
the
life
that
is
gloom
And
we
don't
think
of
others
as
much
as
we
should
And
there's
no
point
in
telling
a
mother
who
cries
You
want
peace,
your
kind
of
peace
She'll
tell
you
if
her
baby's
alive
in
an
hour
That's
peace,
her
kind
of
peace.
What
price
is
peace?
