Nephel was walking on the rails
In that silent and empty station
When he saw a cat.
Nephel loves these wild cats from the station.
He always brings scraps with him -
Some chicken on the holy day
Or anything he could sneak
From the kitchen's empty table.
But tonight was a cat he'd never seen before
Or maybe a long time ago.
Black with deep honey eyes.
They had been staring at
Each other for a little while before Nephel
Dropped him some food.
The cat was so hungry that joy could be seen flicking right
To the tip of its tail.
After everything was eaten,
The cat raised it's head and said:
"Thank you, Nephel."
