Songtexte Grandad's Message - murphhh

Hi Harris
I've decided to take your absence as a chance
To bring back the ancient art of letter writing
Of course in Salford back in the day, we had no choice
We didn't have email or text
And phones were just coming to the masses
But the average phone, if they had a phone
Shared it with one or two neighbors
We called it a party line
You could pick up the handset only to hear next door
Ordering their crack cocaine for the weekend
The more careful of us used pigeon post
Which was okay until the boys got a bit hungry
And started eating the pigeons
Well mate, I'll finish up this first little note
And I'll write again soon
Take care
I liked you laughing at your own joke there in the middle
