Songtexte HEATWAVE - wavcat

Wet, rainy July,
In a forest fire summer.
Late bloomed lover,
As sidewalk chalk runs down from the heatwave,
Finding it's way to the cars from the freeway.
Heard my name called,
From a girl who wonders,
Maybe it's worth it to move on from slumber.
We found the beauty in the cliches.
It's still worth it if we never leave the freeway.
When I am a shell,
You can hold me to your ear,
And still hear the ocean near.
Since something sparks inside,
The fires recognize,
The ocean's a bit much to handle.
It hurts to be in view,
Change doesn't have to be tragic,
It's all a little magic.
It's not too early to be true
Since it's all fairly new,
Let's keep it trapped in a heatwave.
If love waits for no one,
Then why'd it wait so long for me?
Heat waves goodbye morning stars
Hello air-conditioned cars
And road trips across country lines for two
Rough waves, uv rays we drown.
A minute in sleepy beach side towns
For the life of me i could not remember what was outside my room
When I am a shell,
You can hold me to your ear,
And still hear the ocean near.
Since something sparks inside,
The fires recognize,
The ocean's a bit much to handle.
It hurts to be in view,
Change doesn't have to be tragic,
It's all a little magic.
It's not too early to be true
Since it's all fairly new,
Let's keep it trapped in a heatwave.
If love waits for no one,
Then why'd it wait so long for me?
Wet, rainy July,
In a forest fire summer.
Late bloomed lover,
As sidewalk chalk runs down from the heatwave,
Finding it's way to the cars from the freeway.
Heard my name called,
From a girl who wonders,
Maybe it's worth it to move on from slumber.

It's still worth it if we never leave the freeway.
