Lyrics Blizzard - Bill Thwing
Nine
O'clock
in
the
evening
and
we
were
ready
for
bed
When
a
knock
sat
the
door
got
me
out
of
my
chair
Gave
me
something
to
do...
instead
My
next-door
neighbor,
named
Daniel
was
begging
me
to
go
for
a
ride
His
brother's
car
was
stuck
on
a
snow
drift
I
was
needed
to
help
get
him
off
A
blizzard
had
blown
in
from
the
mountains
And
the
road
was
snowy
and
white
The
Alberta
prairie
could
barely
be
seen
In
the
cars
bright
headlight
beams
Alberta
blizzards
are
scary.
Many
had
died
in
their
wake
What
had
I
got
myself
into?
I
hope
I
don't
die
for
God's
sake
Heading
south
/for
the
first
miles
/was
easy
as
pie
Slant
snow
blew/
Straight
'cross
/our
face
But
then
we
took
a
big
turn
to
the
West
And
soon
we
were
deep
in
a
ditch
We
continued
on
foot
but
were
blinded
by
snow
A
breath-taking
wind
it
did
blow
We
could
hardly
breath
as
we
trudged
down
the
road
Our
Parkas
pulled
over
our
nose
Somehow
or
other
we
stayed
on
the
road
Found
the
car
perched
high
on
a
drift
We
climbed
on
up
and
looked
all
around
No
sign
of
Dan's
brother
was
found
Alberta
blizzards
are
scary.
Many
had
died
in
their
wake
What
had
I
got
myself
into?
I
hope
I
don't
die
for
God's
sake
To
the
South
a
dim
glow
shone
forth
thru
the
snow
A
farmhouse
was
right
there
by
the
road
In
its
warmth
and
it's
light
we
stayed
there
all
night
Playing
cards
with
that
old
farmer's
wife
Next
morning,
the
blizzard
blew
off
in
a
huff
and
soon
we
blew
off
with
it
too
Before
too
long
we
were
home
in
our
beds
Thanking
God
that
we
were
not
dead
Thanking
God
that
we
were
alive
We
were
lucky
as
hell
we'd
survived.
Thanking
God
that
we
were
alive
We
were
lucky
as
hell
we'd
survived
Alberta
blizzards
are
scary
Many
have
died
in
their
wake
I'd
got
myself
into
a
blizzard
and
I
did
not
die
by
God's
grace
By
God's
grace
