I Only Remember the Good

All you wanted was a shoulder to cry on

I was selfish and wrong and I just wasn't strong
Enough to tell you what I wanted to say
As the world kept turning and time went by
Your memory has faded away

I could be going through some souvenirs from days gone by

Over the love we had and how it all went bad
If I could take it all back I would
But I never remember the really bad times
I only remember the good

Maybe the sun was rising over desert sands
Or the moon had a yellow glow
After all this time
You being off of my mind
It's kinda hard to know
But we were watching the waves crashing over the fires
As the tide rolled in from the sea
It was morning or night if I remember it right
It all seems so distant to me

I might be going through those photographs we used to take

If I hear familiar voices my heart might start to ache
