Onkel Joschi

Ich hab a Verwandschaft, die ist sozusagen a Graus
Erstens wohnt die Schwiegermutter gleich bei mir im Haus
Zweitens, wer den Onkel Albert auf der Straße sieht
Na, dem vergeht für'n ganzen Tag sofort der Appetit

Tante Ruth und Tante Jetti haben so an Kropf
Dass man, wenn man hinschaut, nicht gleich weiß wo ist der Kopf
No, und was meine Frau betrifft, da nutzt nicht was ich sag –
Dem Ignaz hat sie gut gefall'n und den traf bald der Schlag

Nur den Onkel Joschi hab ich gern
Diesen netten, feinen, alten Herrn
Und wenn ich ihn treffe, da und dort
Lacht er mich stets freundlich an und sagt sofort:

"Ich bin der Onkel Joschi, und ich kann nix dafir
Wenn jemand mir was Kluges sagt, der kriegt's zu tun mit mir
No, und wenn er mir was Dummes sagt, was ich doch gar nicht brauch
Dann reiss ich ihm den Schädel ab und tret ihn auf den Bauch

No, und wenn er dann zum Richter geht, Gewinn bringt ihm das nicht
Denn jeder Richter kennt mich doch und lacht ihm ins Gesicht
Und sagt ihm: 'Lieber Mann, Sie kommen ganz umsonst zu mir –
Das war der Onkel Joschi, und der kann nix dafir!'."

Es gibt ieber zweihundert Anekdoten von meinem Onkel Joschi
Die werd ich Ihnen alle jetzt der Reihe nach erzählen –
Zum Beispiel ist mir eines Tages folgende Anekdote mit ihm zugestoßen:

Einmal hab ich eingeladen meinen Chef, den Kohn
Schließlich will ich weiterkommen – no, sie wissen schon
Der Moskowitz war auch bei uns, nur meinem Chef zulieb'
Weil der hat in Norditalien einen Großbetrieb

Plötzlich kommt der Onkel Joschi bei der Tür herein,
Sagt zu meinem Chef sofort: "Was, Sie sind da, Sie Schwein?"
Dreht sich dann zum Moskowitz und sagt zum ihm ganz glatt:
"Sind Sie nicht der Moskowitz der Steuerschulden hat?"

Beide sprangen auf und wurden blass
Liefen aus dem Haus, und das war das –
Onkel Joschi lachte nur dabei
Setzte sich an meinen Tisch und fraß für drei

So war mein Onkel Joschi, er konnte nix dafir
Am nächsten Tag setzte mich mein Chef zwar vor de Tir
Ich kriegte auch sobald nicht einen andern Posten drauf
Und machte aus Verzweiflung einen Gurkenladen auf

Mein Chef ging bald drauf pleite, wie das schon damals woar
Der Moskowitz ist eingesperrt und sitzt schon sieben Joar
Nur mein Geschäft geht glänzend, ich verdien und ich florier
Und schuld ist Onkel Joschi, und der kann nix dafir

Ja, aber immer war das nicht so harmlos
Was der Onkel alles angezettelt hat
Zum Beispiel hat er mir eines Tages
Folgende, eher unangenehme Geschichte eingebrockt:

Ich kenn eine Dame mit an herrlichen Gesicht –
Das ist vielleicht zu viel gesagt, a Dame ist sie nicht
Und ihr Gesicht ist eher mies, und die Figur ist schlecht –
Doch wenn ich anschau meine Frau, dann ist mir jede recht

No, ich sitz mit der Dame grad bei einem Tête-à-tête
Als plötzlich ungerufen Onkel Joschi vor uns steht
Und sagt zu ihr: "Mein Neffe braucht doch Sie nicht, Gott sei Dank
Denn erstens hat er selbst a Frau, und zweitens ist er krank"

No, die Dame hört das, kriegt an Schreck
Haut mir zwei herunter, und rennt weg
Ich sag: "Onkel Joschi, was soll das?"
Drauf sagt er: "Du, ich glaub, die Frau, die versteht keinen Spaß!

Nu, ich bin doch der Onkel Joschi, und ich kann nix dafir
Und jeder weiß, was ich so sag, bedeutet nix bei mir"
Bevor ich ihm nur irgendwas darauf erwidern kann
Kommt plötzlich meine Frau herein, mit einem Riesenmann

Der Riese brüllt: "Wo ist der Kerl, ich schlag ihn grün und blau
Der war mit einer Frau herin, und das war meine Frau!"
Drauf sag ich zu dem Riesen: "Na, was woll'n Sie dann von mir?
Hier ist nur Onkel Joschi, und der kann nix dafir!"

Wie gesagt, man erzählt zweihundert Anekdoten von Onkel Joschi
Aber einmal muss man Schluss machen, also, mach mer Schluss –
Das heisst, um die Sache quasi abzurunden, nur noch dieses:

Onkel Joschi hatte einmal einen starken Schmerz –
Irgendwo in der Magengegend, diagonal vom Herz
Und der Doktor sagte: "Dort wird stecken a Geschwier
Und ich glaub, das beste wird es sein ich operier"

"Nein", sprach Onkel Joschi, "denn wenn Sie mich operier'n
Dann kann mir im besten Fall mein Todesfall passier'n"
Da befahl der Doktor, ihn zum Krankenhaus zu tragen
Wo man ihn noch untersuchte ohne viel zu fragen

Schließlich sprach ein alter Spezialist:
"Nu, wer soll da erraten, was das ist?
Bringt sofort mein Operationsbesteck"
"Nein!", schrie Onkel Joschi, "denn der Schmerz ist weg!

Ich bin der Onkel Joschi, und ich kann nix dafir
Ich hab jetzt keine Schmerzen mehr und will heraus von hier!"
Er schlug den Doktor nieder, doch sie packten ihn am Bein
Und setzten sich auf seinen Kopf und spritzten ihm was ein

Fünf junge Internisten, für an extra Honorar
Betäubten ihn mit Chloroform, bis er bewusstlos war
Und dann erst rief der Doktor: "No, hurra, ich operier!" –
So starb der Onkel Joschi, und konnte nix dafir

Uncle Joschi

I have some relatives, they're awful, so to speak
Firstly, my mother-in-law lives right here in my house
Secondly, anyone who sees Uncle Albert on the street
Well, their appetite is immediately gone for the whole day

Aunt Ruth and Aunt Jetti have such a goiter
That if you look at them, you don't know right away where the head is
No, and as far as my wife is concerned, there's no use in what I say –
She liked Ignaz, and he soon had a stroke

Only Uncle Joschi I like
This nice, fine, old gentleman
And when I meet him, here and there
He always smiles at me in a friendly way and says immediately:

"I'm Uncle Joschi, and I can't help it
If someone says something clever to me, they'll have to deal with me
No, and if they say something stupid to me, which I don't need at all
Then I'll rip their skull off and kick them in the stomach

No, and if they go to the judge then, it won't do them any good
Because every judge knows me and laughs in their face
And says to them: 'Dear man, you're coming to me for nothing –
That was Uncle Joschi, and he can't help it!'."

There are over two hundred anecdotes about my Uncle Joschi
I'm going to tell you all of them now, one after the other –
For example, the following anecdote happened to me with him one day:

Once I invited my boss, Kohn
After all, I want to get ahead – well, you know
Moskowitz was also with us, just to please my boss
Because he has a large company in Northern Italy

Suddenly Uncle Joschi comes in the door,
Immediately says to my boss: "What, you're here, you pig?"
Then turns to Moskowitz and says to him quite smoothly:
"Aren't you the Moskowitz who has tax debts?"

Both jumped up and turned pale
Ran out of the house, and that was that –
Uncle Joschi just laughed
Sat down at my table and ate for three

That was my Uncle Joschi, he couldn't help it
The next day my boss fired me, as was the case back then
I didn't get another position right away either
And in desperation, I opened a pickle shop

My boss soon went bankrupt, as was the case back then
Moskowitz is locked up and has been sitting for seven years
Only my business is going brilliantly, I'm earning and I'm flourishing
And it's Uncle Joschi's fault, and he can't help it

Yes, but it wasn't always so harmless
What Uncle stirred up everything
For example, he got me into this one day
The following, rather unpleasant story:

I know a lady with a wonderful face –
That's perhaps too much to say, she's not a lady
And her face is rather lousy, and her figure is bad –
But when I look at my wife, any woman will do

Well, I'm sitting with the lady, having a tête-à-tête
When suddenly, uninvited, Uncle Joschi stands before us
And says to her: "My nephew doesn't need you, thank God
Because firstly, he has a wife himself, and secondly, he's sick"

Well, the lady hears this, gets a fright
Slams two down on me and runs away
I say: "Uncle Joschi, what's that supposed to mean?"
He says: "You know, I think that woman doesn't understand a joke!

Well, I'm Uncle Joschi, and I can't help it
And everyone knows that what I say doesn't mean anything to me"
Before I can say anything to him in response
Suddenly my wife comes in, with a giant of a man

The giant roars: "Where is the guy, I'll beat him black and blue
He was in here with a woman, and that was my wife!"
I say to the giant: "Well, what do you want from me then?
Only Uncle Joschi is here, and he can't help it!"

As I said, people tell two hundred anecdotes about Uncle Joschi
But you have to stop at some point, so let's stop –
That is, to round things off, just this:

Uncle Joschi once had a bad pain –
Somewhere in the stomach area, diagonally from the heart
And the doctor said: "There's an ulcer there
And I think the best thing would be for me to operate"

"No", said Uncle Joschi, "because if you operate on me

So the doctor ordered him to be taken to the hospital
Where he was examined without much questioning

Finally, an old specialist said:
"Well, who's going to guess what this is?
Bring my surgical instruments immediately"
"No!", shouted Uncle Joschi, "because the pain is gone!

I'm Uncle Joschi, and I can't help it
I don't have any pain now and I want to get out of here!"
He knocked the doctor down, but they grabbed him by the leg
And sat on his head and injected him with something

Five young interns, for an extra fee
Anesthetized him with chloroform until he was unconscious
And only then did the doctor shout: "Well, hurray, I'm operating!" –
That's how Uncle Joschi died, and couldn't help it
